“Call me back later”
What it usually means
A soft no most of the time, but a real one occasionally. The way to tell is whether they will name the time themselves.
What to say
Happy to. Is Thursday morning better, or Thursday afternoon?
What not to say
Never leave with just 'later'. An unnamed callback is a call you will never make and they will never expect.
