“Send me something in writing”
What it usually means
A genuine request as often as it is a brush-off. The tell is whether they will give you an address to send it to.
What to say
I will do that today. What is the best address or email? And so the number means something, can I ask two quick questions about the condition first?
What not to say
Do not send a number before you know the condition. A written offer you have to walk back later costs you the deal and your credibility.
